SPECIAL SERVICES
Come Worship with Us!
Holy Week 2023
Join us in retelling the story and rejoicing on Easter Sunday
Palm Sunday Worship ~ Sunday, April 2nd at 10am
Also called Passion Sunday, we will reenact Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, as our youth distribute fragrant palm branches to everyone. There will be singing and enjoying festive music between the congregation and the chancel. The service will include the Liturgy of the Palms…with subtle shadows of the Passover and the Passion coming into our hearts.
Maundy Thursday Worship ~ Thursday, April 6th at 7pm
Join us in the upper room for a living recreation of DaVinci's The Last Supper in our sanctuary Maundy Thursday, April 6 at 7:00 pm. Experience the haunting music, subdued atmosphere, and one intense, poignant question asked by each of the disciples gathered at Jesus' table the night before his Crucifixion. Jesus announces to the twelve, "One of you will betray me." Hurt and in shock, each disciple verbally reflects on his own relationship with the Lord, and they must ask themselves a painful question, "Is it I, Lord? Is it I?" Hearing what each one has to say about Jesus will lead us to ask of ourselves the very same question, "Is it I, Lord, who will betray you? Is it I?" Communion will be served to all who want it, and people from our church will play the roles of Jesus and the disciples. And just as they disciples did after the Supper, we will go out singing a hymn (MT 26:30; MK 14:26).
Good Friday ~ Friday, April 7th, 12:00 noon at All Saints
Join Rev. Donna, Pastor Bill (from All Saints Episcopal Church), and Father Bob Cole at noon for an ecumenical service marking Jesus' death on the cross. Come to hear the faithful retelling of the Passion of Jesus, and also join in prayers, reflection, and music.
Easter Morning Services ~ Sunday, April 9th
Sunrise worship, 6 am at Albee Beach
Come to our simple and early morning Easter service as we sing our favorite hymns and rejoice as we see the sun rise over the mountains. Remember to dress warmly, bring a flashlight and a thermos of your favorite hot beverage.
Morning worship, 10am in our sanctuary
Join us for an intergenerational service with the powerful, familiar Easter readings. We will sing and rejoice, offer God our prayers and praise, celebrate the resurrection, and receive the gift of beautiful music from our adult and bell choirs. We will dedicate our church school Lenten project, Amenyo, during the Chancel Steps moment for all ages!
